Is it worth spending an extra £100 for the 7700k? I plan on:
-Gaming at 1440p (I have a GTX 1080)
-Video editing and rendering in 1440p using Sony Vegas pro 14
-If it helps, I have a 1440p monitor as well.

I WILL ONLY BE EDITING AND RENDERING ON AVERAGE OF ABOUT ONCE PER WEEK.

Solution
the extra threads of the 7700 will help with rendering but will do little for the gaming. so if saving some time on the little bit of rendering is important enough to spend the extra money, then it is worth it. otherwise, save the money.

overall, an i7 is a better idea for any kind of content creation as it likes lots of ram and extra threads. if you don't already have 16 gb of ram or more, then i'd go for more ram first, then worry about an i7 upgrade later on.

I've done a bit of looking, and it seems like the i7-7700K is a better deal. However, I'd suggest waiting to get several different responses and answers so you can make a definitive and smart choice
