well i want to build a new one but im on a budget and i cant spend much because im buying everything but the cd/dvd drives ive been looking for a good gamer motherboard but idk what to get i was going to get a MSI G31TM-P21 Micro ATX Intel Motherboard it was cheap plus i have no idea what i need i was kinda guessing on everything

heres what i was going to get with it

Intel Celeron E1500 2.2GHz 512KB L2 Cache LGA 775 65W Dual-Core Processor

Blue Star 650W 20+4-pin Blue LED Fan ATX PSU w/SATA & PCIe

Seagate Barracuda 7200.9 500GB SATA/300 7200RPM 16MB Hard Drive

Kingston 1GB 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 800 (PC2 6400) Desktop Memory Model KVR800D2N5/1G

i was also going to get a case also
Cooler Master RC-922M-KKN1-GP HAF 922M ATX Mid Tower Case

like i said i was just going to get something cheap and within about a 300$ budget im new to building my own computer i need help

If your considering gaming at all I would say you would probably need to spend at least $450-$500. You could build a $300 build but it wouldnt be able to play any kind of games.

Yeah you would have to get a discrete graphics card. The Integrated Graphics would suck at games (except for solitaire).Even a $50 discrete graphics card like a Radeon 4650 card would be a monster improvement. You could also go with a much cheaper case like a $30 one. That particular case is huge in size and especially very long more fitting for a ATX motherboard.
For what you are getting you don't need a 650 watt power supply.
Here is a cheap case with a power supply (just one example there are many more).
It is a mini tower for a micro ATX motherboard.
It is $35 with a power supply albeit a lowly 350 watt one not sufficient for higher end graphics cards but will work with a Radeon 4650

If you want low cost gaming an AMD setup will be far better.

An Athlon II 240 will destroy the celeron

Also a cost effective amd system will be FAR more upgradable in the future compared to an LGA775 of intel

^ +1 on the Athlon II 240 idea. Here is a nice CPU/Motherboard combo (can even run older games with much better integrated graphics although adding a cheap discrete graphics card would be a better improvement).$119

Here is another CPU/Mobo combo although the reviews on the motherboard don't look so good but only 2 reviews so far so it's hard to tell.
It's $124.

Computer system memory for some reason has gone up in price unfortunately and yes you will want at least 2 GB so expect to spend around $45 to $50 for DDR2 whether DDR2-800 or DDR2-1066.

With CPU (and heatsink/fan) + Motherboard + Memory + cheap Case/Power supply that's around $200.
A small cheap hard drive add around $50.A discrete Radeon 4650 would add another $50.
You would still need a DVD burner unless you have a spare one and also an operating system unless you already have it.

I would agree with you mostly.I prefer a higher tier more expensive power supply but on a $300 budget that's pretty hard to meet.
I've had sub $50 cases with power supplies that have never failed even after 6 years of use.Actually personally I've never had a power supply failure yet and I have had 100+ systems (threw away or gave away many of these systems recently due to obsolesence).
I was just making one example of a sub $50 case with a powersupply. It was an example only.

well the 650 wat power supply its fine because i found one for 20$ which is a amazing price i have a cd/dvd drive laying around also have a ati radeon 9200 pci 128 mb video card. and the 500g ram i found for about 40$ and has good reviews i go between newegg and computergeeks but im looking into the motherboard/processor which is cheaper then the motherboard and processor i was looking at it was about 120$ total and the processor was a 2.2 i also want to overclock. thats why i was going to spend all that money on that big of a tower it is a atx case and a midtower with amazin airflow also i was going to buy 3 fans and a fan controller to controll the fan speed when i was playing the games and when i was idle. but if thats a bad idea tell me lol

the celeron is like a really $hit sempron just get a amd setup.Im currently using my newest setup as my xmas present. Its a good comp and its quite fast and i bought all the parts myself and it only cost around 120pound.

I have a oced sempron to 3.1ghz 3gb samsung ddr2 800mhz ram airflow king case sound blaster audigy2zs and ecs gf8100vm-m5 board
That celeron is based off the core architecture and is faster clock for clock than your Sempron, it is also a dual core while your sempron has only one core. At the stock 2.2 it'll out perform your 3.0Ghz Sempron in almost all tasks, and it would also overclock just as far or further than your Sempron.
