Current setup is in my sig. Will be updating to a 3570k sometime in the next 1-3 months. Looking at an Asrock board that supports SLI or Crossfire when I upgrade.

So 1 650Ti 2GB Boost or 2 7750 in Crossfire? Leaning towards the 650. Price is roughly the same at newegg depending on the brand. Planetside 2 is my current addiction, which is heavily CPU dependent. I turned off Crossfire once on my current set up and FPS barely dropped at all, so I'm questioning the actual effeciency of dual card setups.

Its better go go with a single GPU over a crossfire or SLI configuration.

As you can see, a 7750 crossfire configuration performs close to the HD 6870. The GTX 650 Ti Boost is closer to the HD 6970. Go with the GTX 650 Ti Boost.

What? The GTX 650 Ti Boost sits right in between the 7850 and 7870 while consuming 2% more juice and is better than both the 7850 and 7870 in the price/performance figures(not including game bundles in the equation).

Woh! Take it easy there cowboy! Don't all go "fanboy" on me! This just means i am wrong, it happens, and those two even out right? The 650ti+ got 2% lower in p/w but has 2% higher in p/$. Fair & square?

Btw, the HD7800s series has 32 ROPs while the GTX650ti+ has 24.

based on this review of HD7850/7870 vs GTX650ti boost (both are reference card to keep the fariness):

Sorry, pal.

To the author of the question, i would stick with the 7750 for now until the CPU upgrade comes, then you can choose either GTX 650 ti Boost or another one. I would recommend HD7850 or HD 7870 ghz. :)

I don't "fanboy" Sir. I always buy the best value regardless of branding gimmicks. I tend not to factor in game bundles on these forums simply because not everyone has access to them. That said, the HD 7850 and HD 7870 are a better value if you can sell or have interest in the games. The GTX 660, which has been sitting around the price of a 2GB 785, is also a great value currently.

Also, why would you reference gpuboss? That is about the most useless comparison site out there.

These is currently a great buys, pick the one that best fits your budget:
Video Card: MSI GeForce GTX 650 Ti Boost 2GB Video Card ($139.50 @ Newegg)
Video Card: Asus GeForce GTX 660 2GB Video Card ($169.00 @ Newegg)
Video Card: Sapphire Radeon HD 7870 GHz Edition 2GB Video Card ($189.99 @ Newegg)

My limit is $170. According to good ol' Tom's here, the 650 is a better value than the 7850 simply because of the price point. The 7850 and 7870 are out of budget and were not even mentioned in the original post.

As I mentioned, I'm leaning towards the 650 boost, but looking for a bit of confimation. Crossfire has done me right for the last 4 years. Tom's hasn't mentioned a Crossfire set up in its reccomendations for quite sometime. The 4770 Crossfire was top of the list in its price range about 4 years ago.

The card I get now will go with the 3570k. Won't have the funds to upgrade a vid card now and in the near future. Child support = tight budget! Stick to the question at hand please.

Considering that this is the first time you mentioned your budget, the prior discussion was stipulation based on the cost of 2 7750s. The MSI GTX 650 Ti Boost is your best buy at $140 after rebate.

Thanks for these links slomo. I don't include MIR in my pricing, but I somhow missed these promo codes. Those just show up today? Might actually spend a few dollars more for the 660.

Thanks for the replies/info.
