Hey guys, I'm planning on upgrading to an MSI 7770 GHz Edition and I'm wondering if my sucky APU will bottleneck it. My setup is as follows:

A6-5400k OC'd 4.0 GHz
Cooler Master Hyper TX3, so high temps are no prob 😀
Corsair Vengeance (2x4GB) 8GB at 1600 speed
currently a Sapphire 6570 1GB - NOT in dual graphics - it actually helps D:
Asus F2A85-M MOBO

I'm looking for like mid-high settings on BF3 @ 1600x900 res with at least like 30 fps while recording 720p with MSI Afterburner

i also might upgrade to an Athlon X4 750k if performance while recording sucks

Sorry I'm a noob, but what exactly do you mean by a piledriver module?

AMD claims it's 2 cores. I consider it more 1.5 cores. Each piledriver module is 2 AMD "cores" sharing L2 Cache. This makes them not completely independent of eachother so I don't consider it 2 cores at all. When AMD claims its FX-8350 is 8 core, they actually mean its 4 piledriver modules

Even a Celeron has seperate L2 Cache for each of its cores.

So tl;dr that processor is extremely weak. Usually a processor won't be a bottleneck but the difference is too big for this case.

All that being said. I think you can play it at mid settings with a 7770

So do you think I should upgrade to the Athlon 750k?
