my ass it is it's just the gt with 4 pipes turned off(or the gtx with 8 pies turned off depends who you ask) the 6800gt still kicks it's ass beatin by it's older brother!

400 is equivalent to a 6800gs + new pcie mobo.. screw the 7800gs

The 7800 GS will cut you back for $350-$400.

For me the best value card, I have to say the 7800 GT.

Think about it:

7800 GS = $350-$400 AGP

-vs-

7800 GT = $250-$390 PCI-Express

its better when it comes to cost/performance value.

Im with Vile. Buying a new mobo and 7800 GT is a lot better than just buying the 7800 GS.

Why would Nvidia bother to launch an AGP card for the same price that you can purchase a PCI-E SLI motherboard and a 7800 GT.

For $200, I'd say the 7800 GS would be worth buying, not $350!

So I take it know one so far understands why the Inq titled it "7800GS is the Best Value AGP Card"? Seems they don't understand the meaning of the word value?

I had the BFG model in my hands at BestBuy today. No price on shelf, so I asked; $350 of course. The salesman told me he had a GF6 and the 7's are much better so he has heard. :roll: I just replied, not this 7 unfortunatley.

Consumers will buy it in droves because its a Geforce 7 for AGP.

Those who didnt listen to ATI and Nvidia when they said the move to PCIE would be swift, and encouraged everyone to run out and buy the S754 platforms on the eve of the S939 transition are certainly getting exactly what they deserve.

But people insisted "buy now! AGP wont be left behind anytime soon, theres too many of us!!!!", were prob stuck on AGP themselves and didnt choose to wait.. so they brought more down with them convincing others to stick with AGP. They were wrong.
