I've just finished upgrading my PC, here is how it looked:
Core i5-2500
8GB DDR3-RAM
GTX 970
Asrock Z68 Pro3
and here is how it's looking now:
Core i7-7820X
Noctua NH-D15S
16GB DDR4-RAM Corsair LPX Vengeance (2.667Mhz running at 2.133Mhz)
GTX 970
Gigabyte X299 UD4

Before I upgraded I ran a quick tests with a few games of mine (GTA 5, BF1, Steep) and noticed now that the 7820X has worse gaming performance than my 2500. For example, in the benchmark sequence of GTA 5 I get with the same settings (copied the cofig file) about 2 or 3 fps less than on my Sandy Bridge CPU. The same goes for Steep: I constantly had over 60 FPS with my 2500, the 7820X only allows 40 to 50 FPS.
The thing is, performance in software like x264 or music produktion or Cinebench is very good. Cinebench score is 1.734 and the video encoding pace of a 4k video is about 20 FPS. When I play video games the temperatures are about 40 to 50 degrees Celsius.
I turned off Windows 10 Game Mode.
I chose energy mode 'High Performance'.
I installed and reinstalled the GPU drivers and chipset drivers.
GPU usage in games is usually 99%, CPU about 30 to 40%.
This is a fresh Windows 10 install.
When I'm booting, the DRAM-, GPU- and CPU-LEDs on my motherboard light up red for a few seconds, but then it boots up either way. The manual says, that if they light up, something is not right. But why is it booting then? The newest BIOS is installed, the CPU is actually mounted by the shop where I bought it and the past showed that they are reliable.
Can you please help me?
