7850 and Antec TP#-650W

Will there be any issues? I have Antec TP3-650W with +12V1@19A,+12V2@19A,+12V3@19A,-12V@0.8A rails. I think I saw that the 7850 only needs 24Amps...but I've heard the PCIe slot makes up the difference or something along those lines. My little experience in electronics(building tube amps) makes believe this is not a good situation. But Again I've seen others on this forum suggest that the amperage on the 12v rails doesn't necassarily need to be as high as the 6pin requirements of the card.
AMD site says - 500W (or greater) power supply with one 75W 6-pin PCI Express power connector recommended \

Can you help me out? Maybe even a little explaination would help educate me.

You are perfectly safe with that psu. There has to be 24A on the total combined 12V rails and you have much more than that.

A 350w psu would be adequate for a 110w video card based system. Today's cards (and cpu's) are MUCH more efficient than last years models.

I don't know what you mean. If your asking if 2-20a rails is equal to 40a, then no, it doesn't work that way you can't just add up the rails.

Ok..then I'm curious how a 19amp rail will suffice for a 24amp card? Robjordy said as longs as the combined rails are greater than 24amps I'd be all set...but if the card only takes 1 six pin how will the combination of 12v amps work?

Nah, he means when you have like yours 12v1 19a, 12v2 19a, 12v3 19a, that you can't do a math like 3x19A, so i have 57Amps ! It doesn't work like that, but you didn't say that, you said 40A and i think thats pretty safe. ( you have that from the psu i guess ? )

So yeah...here is what I deduced...tell me if I'm wrong.
The PSU says +12V1, 12V2,12V3 maximum output 624 Watts max....SO 624w/12v=52A.
The GPU says 24A but I think the GPU amp rating is total system amps not what it will draw itself. So I think I'm good to go. Man I love learning something new!

Like I said a 350w psu would be fine. I'm running a 380w and my gpu uses 40w more than a 7850.

Yep, the card itself draws much less. Forgot to tell you that.
I love learning new things myself to, only always seem to forget them
