Hello all,

would a gigabyte hd 7850 OC 2gb work for crysis 3 on high settings, along with a c2q q6600, 8gb ram, and a GA-EP45-UD3L, all on a 650 watt PSU?

Thanks

No chance. The system specs for high settings recommend a GTX 680 or higher. The 7850 isn't a high end card, so I very much doubt it'd be able to run Crysis 3 beyond medium.

considering FC3 can give you 45+average fps on evga gtx 660 ftw if you use ultra settings on custom with shadows and post processing on medium + msaa 0 with fxaa, i would say on 1080 it should be ok.

but yeah crysis is a gpu bound game so msaa 4 or 8 will be terrible, tough if they use same console smallish textures who knows. maybe its just repacked crysis 2 and as long as its a tunnel game it should not be a problem after all, max payne 3 run great even on my old radeon 5750 on e7500, in comparison to gta iv

Minimum system requirements for PC

Windows Vista, Windows 7 or Windows 8
DirectX 11 graphics card with 1Gb Video RAM
Dual core CPU
2GB Memory (3GB on Vista)
Nvidia/Intel example setup: Nvidia GTS 450, Intel Core2 Duo 2.4 Ghz (E6600)
AMD example setup: AMD Radeon HD5770, AMD Athlon64 X2 2.7 Ghz (5200+)

Recommended system requirements for PC

Windows Vista, Windows 7 or Windows 8
DirectX 11 graphics card with 1GB Video RAM
Quad core CPU
4GB Memory
Nvidia/Intel example setup: Nvidia GTX 560, Intel Core i3-530
AMD example setup: AMD Radeon HD5870, AMD Phenom II X2 565

Hi-performance system requirements for PC

Windows Vista, Windows 7 or Windows 8 •
Latest DirectX 11 graphics card •
Latest quad core CPU
8GB Memory
Nvidia/Intel example setup: NVidia GTX 680, Intel Core i7-2600k
AMD example setup: AMD Radeon HD7970, AMD Bulldozer FX4150

Recommended will probably get you medium settings. Hi-performance will get you high settings around 40-60Fps is my bet.

Actually I just got Crysis 3 today I have a single 7850 2gb albeit it's paired with a 3570k at 4.4ghz.

All settings are set to very high with no AA 1920x1200reso and it runs really smooth with mostly between 30 and 50 fps. For some reason when looking at fire it causes fps to dip a bit below 30 fps. I was very surprised it runs this well to be honest and I see no need to get a second 7850 I was contemplating on. As long as you don't need AA you should be able to run the game great with a mix of very high and high settings but not sure how your processor will handle the game.

Oh and the game is awesome! The graphics are just spectacular, I have fc3 and bf3 and this one looks way better than both which surprised me. The hunter mode is really really cool, it feels like you're in the movie predators...

Edit: 2xmsaa doesnt hurt performance at all but 4xmsaa it goes into low 10's and 20's not good
