Would the 260 help with performance for physx games? Does the "physx" card use much power? since it's only for physx? Is it really worth it?

You will need a hacked driver to run physx in games. There are people on here that would probably know how to do it but may get in trouble for showing you. I'm not sure how up to date the driver is for it either. Is physx worth it in most cases no. Unless you were someone who plays games like Batman AA, AC, or Borderlands 2, or Metro 2033, or Mirror's Edge or any of these games. The answer is no. If you were set on Physx it would of been better to go with a Nvidia card but only if you played games that you really enjoyed that use it.

Right because it is a older card but its possible it will not. Right now in modern titles you will probably see best physx performance with a 460, 560, or 650 card. However that being said again you will need hacked drivers with a AMD card as your primary card to use physx.

A GTX 260 goes between $60-80 right now.... he might as well spend $100 and get a GTX 650... especially since the 260 hogs a lot of power... and his off brand psu might not able to handle it either.

True but he is again still using a AMD card as his primary card. Its unknown how recent the hacked driver is. If it will create more issues then solve them and if its really all that worth it. It truly depends on what he is playing and sill not in any way improve gameplay if he doesn't play games that use it.

I think first two comments are well said. nothing much to add. If your planning to play games using physx, why not go nvidia instead. If not, It would really hurt your performance.

Yes i'm sad that i couldn't afford to go nvidia this time around since they've always been the comfortable brand to stick with. I heard i needed hacked drivers but wasn't sure if it was true. Not really willing to go through possible complications. Thanks for the info guys. Best answer goes tooo....

Honestly you aren't missing much unless you are playing games that use it otherwise the card is just sitting there so all and all unless you play games that you really love in the list I listed you are golden man

You could just get a GTS 450 that is what my son uses with his 7950 works great.
