7870 power cables

Hi, I've bought a XFX HD 7870 ghz edition online (link: http://www.dabs.com/products/xfx-amd-radeon-7870-hd-1ghz-2gb-pci-express-3-0-hdmi-dd-8VXW.html) and i'm really confused about what extra power needs to be plugged in. On the dabs website it says 1x6pin and 1x8pin but everywhere else i've looked says 2x6pin. Also i got a corsair 500w cx power supply and the cables it says it provides 2 x 6pin/8pin pcie power cables. Will i be able to use this graphics card with this power supply.

EDIT: Neither have arrived yet which is why i'm asking

It requires 2 6-pin power connectors according to XFX.

It doesn't even matter though, your power supply has 6+2 pin connectors - they can plug in with 6 pins or 8.

It should have 2 6 pin connectors. Your PSU is fine, if you don't have the right connectors you can always get splitters.
