Good day. So I’m currently running a 4080 super but I just purchased a 7900 XTX because I want 24 GB of VRAM and this card is the only affordable way to get that. My question is will I still be able to run Frame Generation in Microsoft Flight Simulator like the 4080? I know it’s called FSR but will
It work just the same? Anyone with experience with this? Thanks.

Short answer is no from what i can tell Flight simulator has FSR 2.0 so no frame gen. You can run fsr instead of dlss, its ok at the higher quality settings but its not as good as dlss ( switched from a vega 64 to a 4070 TiS recently)
What want to know is what kind of screen(s) you are using to need dlss, frame gen and 24 gigs of vram on those gpus

Yeah maybe 24 GB of vram is a complete overkill. I’m just using a 1440p Asus 32” screen. Maybe I should just keep my 4080 super and return the 7900xtx. Reason for wanting 24 GB of VRAM is I’m figuring maybe MSFS will need that.

Looking at some benchmarks, seems like its 10-20GB for 4k and 8-12 for 1440p (no dlss max settings) which is way more than i was expecting. I still think it is overkill for 1440p though. Honestly i would return the 7900xtx either way even though its a bit stronger, you should still be able to get max setting and good fps even without dlss and frame gen. Its better to wait a few months for the new generation to come out (prolly january - july for amd and nvidia) and then you will be able to buy a substantial upgrade for not much more than you spent on the 7900

To clarify, AMD has implemented a frame generation feature known as AFMF 2, which can be enabled in the driver. Additionally, if a game supports DLSS, you can download the FSR 3.1 + Frame Generation mod. However, I am uncertain whether you would be able to play online due to potential anti-cheat detection. ;)
