Hi, I'm kind of stumped trying to decide on a GPU :?

I'm getting a new computer, an E6600 with 2G RAM, and should probably note that I'm hoping to get away with a generic/no-name case and PSU...

Due to a limited budget for the GPU, and limited availability in my area,
I have to choose between these three cards, which would all cost me the same:

The Gigabyte x1950PRO

The Gigabyte 7900GS

(I like that both are slightly OC'ed and "Integrated with Zalman VF700 fansink")

or maybe

The ASUS EAX1950PRO

I got the impression that everyone agrees that the x1950 is the better performer, however that it's also not as stable as the 7900GS? I really don't want to end up with a bust card anytime soon...
I'm not sure if the integrated fansink on the Gigabyte x1950 is enough to make stability better, and in case it isn't, I would really rather not spend any more money on a better PSU to do so.

I'll probably OC the 7900GS (or even the x1950?) if I can get away with it due to the Zalman fansink.

so.. which card do you guys think I should get? :)

How much wattage and Amps do you have on the generic PS?

Stock, the 1950Pro should be better, but the 7900 is more overclockable... However, I wouldn't count on OCing with the PS...

The PS is 500w, not sure about Amps though.

I've gone with generic PS all my life, never affected me really,
then again I've never OCed anything either..

I'm aiming towards the best option assuming not over 50$ spent on a case and PSU (which I assume means sticking to generics..)

Get the X1950Pro. It's significantly faster than the 7900GS at stock, and while the 7900GS is more overclockable, you'll probably have trouble with temps and may even have to buy an aftermarket cooler to get it to match the X1950Pro.

To tell you the truth, I'd be a little worried about that system with the generic PS... If it runs at all, it'll most likely stall when you push the system and/or the graphics card... Those generics might be rated at 500W, but, when it heats up, the ratings go way down....

Good luck tho...
