7950 with R9XX drivers - wth?

CCC is telling me theres a driver update available for my 7950. The one it wants to give me is the R9XX driver.

Did I miss something?

The graphics cards manufacturers usually re-release old cards with cheaper prices and bumps in speed as their new models, this is what happened with the 280x (7970) and 280 (7950). That is why you are able to crossfire these two different generations of cards because they are really the same thing.

That is probably why it's prompting you with R9XX drivers instead of HD7XXX drivers.
