Hi,
I have two Sapphire 7970's OC Editions in Crossfire and they overheat. I mean, I'm running 6000x1080 (5760x1080), and it strains them, so let's say Borderlands 2, which i play online goes up to 80-85*C in 20min, and the cards won't last long I'm guessing... I also want to overclock these cards (Core: 950-1100) and Memory (1425-1550), but only raising the core to 1050 ran my lower card at 69*C and the top one 90*C, so i immediately turned the OC off... I was looking at Watercooling, but I really don't have the cash right now... Allot of people tell me to get a custom loop (my 3930k already has a H100i in push/pull), just for my GPU'S but that would cost me app. 450-500€, and for keeping these cards cool and that minor OC, i'm not spending that.

Anyway, i was looking at the Artctic Accelero Hybrid:

http://www.amazon.com/ARCTIC-Accelero-Hybrid-Extreme-Hi-Performance/dp/B008BHFVGM/ref=sr_1_1?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1383686273&sr=1-1&keywords=accelero+hybrid+7970

what do you think? I would get it, but since my cards are in CF, I'M afriad it won't fit. The cards only have 1 slot between them (actually half a slot, because the gpu heatsinks are massive). It's an ATX board so I cant get them any more apart. The hybrid is also 11/2 slot, so would it fit? you also have to attach this little backplate, that's raised up at the back, so it stays in place, that's why i worry :)

And one more thing i saw was this... Cheap Watercooling maybe?

http://www.amazon.com/Swiftech-MCW82-Performance-Universal-water-block/dp/B003NAQP6W/ref=sr_1_4?ie=UTF8&qid=1383685885&sr=8-4&keywords=7970+waterblock

Is it better to get a custom water loop with that? But I'm guessing the VRM or memory or whatever it is called on the card would overheat...

So, im leaning for the hybrid, because i can spend 150€ and have both cards well cooler...
Opinions? would teh 850w handle the water coolers too?

Thanks!!!

Asrock x79 extreme4
Haf 922
850W Corsair TX850

Well, the Corsair thing is basically the same as the Swiftec cooler, it's a cooler without cooling the VRm or those memory modules or whatever... Im guessin' the Hybrids are now my best option... However, I'm still not sure it will fit all of it together... Thanks for the reply anyway!

I say take the risk and try and see if the Hybrid will fit, haha.

I think I'll go with a custom water loop. Probably the Swiftech MCW82 http://www.amazon.com/Swiftech-MCW82-Performance-Universal-water-block/dp/B003NAQP6W/ref=sr_1_4?ie=UTF8&qid=1383685885&sr=8-4&keywords=7970+waterblock

dual 120mm rad's and maybe a single 200mm rad, I'll see how it would fit. And for the VRM, I'm getting the heatsinks you told me, but i guess I need thermal pads too? And would these aluminium heatsinks be good for everything? Because i want to OC my memory to i guess 1550 (from 1425). Would that be possible with those heatsinks? I'm more looking for OC'ing the Core (1000-1200/1225mhz). What else do i need for a water loop? Do you know about this stuff or should i open another thread?

Because all i got now is:
-PUMP
-RADIATORS
-THE SILVER COIL
-Heatsinks
-GPU Block
-Reservoir

I'll post the links to everything later, but what do you think for the heatsinks + MCW82?

Thanks!
