7970 dies at 80c

Basically everytime my GPU hits 75-80c it crashes in some way, with kombuster the screen goes black, with UE4 the program crashes, and the screen goes black for a second, with some unity games the computer bluescreens, my PSU is a thermaltake smart 650w 80+ bronze, I'm running windows 8.1 64bit, and the airflow in my case is perfect, so far I've found turning up my GPU fan will keep it running quite a bit longer (and louder), but it still eventually hits 80c under full load. Iv'e tried reinstalling drivers and all.

The card is still under warranty but I want to avoid sending it in if I can, as I will have to use a 9500 GT in the meantime.

i would still send it back because its still under warranty you don't want to mess around with something like that. The longer you keep it the worse it might get.
