7970 not connecting to HDTV

Hey guys recently bought a Gigabyte 7970OC and have been using for the last couple of weeks on my monitor through DVI. I tried to plug into my Samsung TV (PS64D550) and can't seem to get a signal. My old 560ti worked fine, as does my laptop through HDMI, so it's not the cables. I've tried it in different outlets with no luck. The card has a full HDMI port so no DVI or mini HDMI connector is required.
Do you guys have any ideas?

Ok I connected my monitor and checked the monitor settings and the samsung shows up, but I can't seem to get the TV to show the HDMI port the PC is connected to.
