Today I finally was able to buy 2 more monitors in hope to have 3 total monitors. I did the research and found that I didn't need any special cables for 3 monitors. I read that all I need to look for is if my GPU can hook up to multiple monitors. I'm using a XFX Radeon 7770 1GB. It has 2 dvi, 1 hdmi, 1 mini hdmi. Two of my monitors are DVI and my main normal one is HDMI.
For some reason i'm able to hook up only two monitors at once. If I attempt 3 one will shut off. I can either run 1 DVI and 1 HDMI or both DVI. I even tried running display fusion but even that will not allow a 3rd monitor. Screen Resolution window shows that there is a 4th monitor hooked up called "Display Device on: VGA".
Rig:
Windows 7 Ultimate x64-x86
NZXT M59 classic case
Gigabyte GA-990XA-UD3
AMD quadcore bulldozer 3.60Ghz
ATi XFX Radeon HD 7770 1GB Ghost Thermal SuperClocked Black Edition
8gb DDR3 RipJawz Ram
Corsair GS700w
640GB HDD
1TB HDD
