7n400 Pro 2: safe warning temp?

The bios default of 60C seems too low. My box idles around 45C, but if
I start playing UT2k4 of Far Cry it easily exceeds 60C. Is it safe to
set this higher, like 70C or 75C?

If that's a thermistor reading, probably not. If it's cpu internal
reading, probably so. As an example, my 2100+ overclocked to 2700+ never
exceeds 50C under load. Idles around 32C. this is a thermistor reading
with ambient about 25C.

AMD processor should never exceed 70C. If it does, do not expect it to
function properly. You can set it to 65C, but it ain't safe. Consider better
cooling for the CPU.
