Hi! Recently my mobo GA-B250M-HD3's processor slot suffered a physical damage. A technician shopkeeper identified it yesterday. Few hours ago, he called and said that he has no stock of B250M-HD3. But will install a 8th gen one. Now my processor is Core i3-7100 a 7th gen. Will my pc work flawlessly if Core i3-7100 is inserted in the 8 gen mobo??

Solution
he called and said that he has no stock of B250M-HD3. But will install a 8th gen one.
That will not work, even the 8th gen MB still has the same lga1151 socket, but the 300 series MBs do not support 7th gen cpu. Call back, let them use the other 200 series MB, like H270, other B250, even the 100 series MB is OK, but not the 300 series MB for your i3 7100.
