[SOLVED] 8.00 GB (3.95 GB usable) RAM

My computer always worked fine but 2 or 3 days ago it started to say that, my friend kind of helped me fix it yesterday, but today when I was playing the computer rebooted without me asking for it and it was saying that again. Please help. I have unchecked the maximum memory thing in msconfig and my bios doesn't have the memory remap feature.

What did your friend do? Sounds like one of the sticks could be going bad or poor contact from the dimm slots. Try reseat and swap them around.

Boot memtest via usb and test them.

Thanks, I changed the ram's locations and the computer recognized them.
