Need some details. Are the parts all new, or are some repurposed? Which parts went into the system?

These RAM issues often come down to if the RAM was purchased as a matched kit as otherwise the two sticks do not work together due to minor mismatches.

Before we write it off, did you update the bios for the motherboard? Did you read the motherboard manual as to which slots the RAM should be installed into?

You must run a 64 bit version of Windows to use 8GB. 32 bit Windows can only see 4GB.

If you are using a 64 bit version of Windows, then shut the power off, open the case, and move the two memory sticks into the slots that are currently empty. Make sure they are firmly seated in the slot and that the latch(es) snap into place. Then restart the computer and see if that changes anything.

yes i litterly downloaded the motherboard manual on how to setup and i spent about 2 hours setting up mother board before putting in the case the mother board i got from a friend and the 2 sticks of ram were in the mother board when i got it my friend told me they didnt do that before when he had it.

Hmm... per Newegg, that board should be able to handle 16GB; however, my question relates to the RAM itself: are they matched sticks? Same vendor and everything? From what I can see, it appears that's not the case and that could be part of the problem. Rarely will RAM sticks that have different timings and voltages work well if at all.

Take both sticks out, reinsert one of them, and boot up. Verify both sticks in the same manner. Then reinsert both of them again and see if the problem continues. If it does, it's likely the RAM. All I could suggest at that point would be to see if you can test a matched pair if possible to see if the board can then address all 8GB.

*edit*

The max speed the mobo can take is 1333; the non-Elpida is 1600. That's likely your issue.

well if its 1600 couldnt i turn it down some how im new to this

You may be able to change the speed through the BIOS, but the RAM is natively 1600. As such, the memory controller sees it as such and it might not make a difference; however, it's worth trying. Good luck. If it still doesn't work, I'd try a matched pair as I suggested that's 1333.

Actually, it is being used by something in his system. Go back to the very first image he posted. Something is reserving 4GB of memory. That is why I think he has an integrated video chip that needs system memory to function. There is nothing else that I can think of that would want to reserve 4GB of memory.

On my system, with a discrete video card that comes with 4GB of GDDR5, there is only 69.4MB of memory reserved.

If he has an unused integrated video chip in his system, disabling that chip in the BIOS should release the 4GB of system memory, or at least nearly all of it anyways. You will probably never get to 0MB reserved.
