8.1 Constantly Hanging Up

I just recently built my new PC and installed Windows 8.1 onto a regular 1TB HDD (will install on an SSD soon), but one thing I've noticed is that Windows 8.1 will hang-up forcing me to restart. It doesn't hang when running stress tests such as Prime95 or Furmark. I also ran the Windows Memory diagnostics tool to check for any issues with RAM, but that didn't show any errors either.

It has hung-up while using Google Chrome, its hung-up when exiting (but not while running) Minecraft, GTA5, and other games, and even hung-up while installing GPU-Z and sometimes while running Core Temp, but I don't notice any pattern to when it'll hang.

The other thing I noticed is the Nvidia driver will occasionally crash about as often as the computer hangs up and without any specific pattern. I've updated most all drivers, including the Nvidia driver to version 347.52, but Windows still hangs.

It doesn't seem to be an issue with overheating, since the CPU at max load peaks at 64C, and the GPU's at max load peak at 76C for the top card and 71C for the bottom card. I also don't think it's an issue with power since I'm using an 850 watt power supply, after research, the system overall should only use 690 watts at full load. I've now triple checked that all components are installed correctly as well.

I'm almost out of ideas, other than running more stress tests and diagnostic tools to try and isolate the specific issue.

Specs for my PC:
Mobo: MSI x99 SLI Plus
CPU: Intel i7 5820k
GPU: two EVGA GTX 980's (2-Way SLI)
RAM: 32GB DDR4 G.Skill Value Series
PSU: EVGA SuperNOVA 850 G2

CPU Vcore and clocks are OK. Temp is a bit high - 65C. Bump up fan speeds to over 1000rpm. If that doesn't help then re-seat the cooler.

Power Supply voltages are OK.

GPU temps are a touch high. Blow your case out with compressed air to get dust out.

CPU at 64C is a bit high. What CPU cooler are you using?

Download HWInfo and run Sensors. Game for 20mins. Post the Srensors results - usually 3 screenshots in TinyPic or similar. To see temps, vltages, clocks etc.

The 64C was the max recorded temp while running Prime95 for an hour, it usually sat around 56C to 62C during the test. I adjusted the fan profile a bit which got the temps to go down to a 49-56C range at full load with a peak at 60C. I'm using the Noctua NH-D14 cooler.

Here are the results from HWiNFO. I had to run the Aida64 stress test because the games weren't cooperating very well (they still cause things to hang).
