Just finished a new build.

Samsung 840BW EVO 256GB

Installing Windows 8.1 Pro 64-Bit from a USB, upon setup, I have been hit with a Critical Structure Corruption BSOD. I managed to install drivers before this occurring again. Installed the SPTD fix, which didn't work as I received the BSOD again (no external or USB storage connected at the time).

Decided to reformat, upon a fresh install after plugging in my external to copy over drivers, I get hit again.
Any thoughts or ideas? Could it be the USB install? I know the ISO that I am creating the boot-able disk from is fine, as I have used it without hassle before.

Solution
If you attempted the reinstall with the same USB drive and it occurred once again I would say yes. It could simply have not copied to the drive well and its corrupted there somehow. Try recreating the drive again after formatting it and see what happens. If it does the same thing you might consider a different drive or even consider installing using the ISO file burned to DVD.

Thanks for the feedback. I'm currently attempting another fresh install with a new ISO + USB, in which I am going to aim to complete all Windows updates immediately after the installation, in the event a hotfix has been released. I will update you on my progress.

I gave this a shot, unfortunately no luck. I have ran Memtest86 and have since discovered one of my RAM modules were faulty. I have removed this module and am now in the process of running a fresh install, lets see if this works.

😀 Hope it goes smoothly for you.
