Hi,

There are many guides for disabling the live tiles in the menu.
I don't want that info.

What I want is the menu itself to not waste time animating, the background fading in and then the tiles sliding in from one side column by column. I want to click start and it all be there, as if you disable the minimization animation, click, gone, click again, back -- no delay (or an acceptable one if youre minimizing and restoring)

I think the closest you can get is: "Show the Apps view automatically when I go to Start"

Right click on the taskbar, select Properties
Navigation tab
Click the checkbox

that does solve the speed concern for sure. Thank you.

I did learn that telling it to preserve the desktop background sped things up a tad too.
