8 & 6 pin sockets on card

Hi All i have just purchased a PowerColor HD7970 graphics card for my first build, on trying to install i noticed it has both 6 pin & 8 pin power inputs, do i need to have them both plugged into the power supply (850w) or do i just plug in the 8 pin ?? hope you can help

You need to plug both 2x6 and 2x8 pin connectors.

you need to plug both, even if you only have 2x6 pin connectors it will work fine.
