Right now I have a 1TB msata that I boot off of and 2 segate 2TB hard drives in my laptop in Raid 0 for storage. So there is approximately 4TB of storage. I want to make that 8TB or 16TB of storage in my laptop.
I have watched the 4TB Samsung EVo 860s drop in price, but they are still $650 each on a good day....When they first came out they were around $1600 so what is replacing them at the $1600 price point so that they drop below $400? We should start seeing 8TB and 16TB consumer SSD's at the $1600 price point pushing every thing else down.
If anyone wants to suggest a 2.5 inch laptop hard drive solely for storage...... 2TB is the max right now, so they are behind in capacity also.... There are 5TB 2.5 inch dives out there, but they are too tall to fit in a laptop.
