I am attempting to help a co-worker out. He started to get the BSOD after patch Tuesday. I cleaned internal PC of dust and build up. Booted safely to safe boot mode and was able to install malwarebytes. I also placed rogue killer, combofix, and adwcleaner on desktop.

The malwarebytes install required a restart. That is when it went a little crazy. Over the course of a few minutes these are the errors i received. I was not able to get back to windows. None of the errors repeated.

1. irql not less or equal
2. bad pool header
3. system service exception
4. page fault in non paged area (ntfs)
5. unexpected kernel mode trap
6. page fault in non paged area (fbwf.sys)
7. page fault in non paged area
8. system thread exception not handled (avloga.sys)

Upon getting the BSOD, the computer would try to enter windows repair, then restart the process of loading, and BSOD all over again. Any help on solving this? Would i be better off booting Hirens MiniXP and getting the logs to look at? None of his hardware was changed out, he said he has not installed, or downloaded anything to his knowledge but is unsure of kids. I will be forever in your debt.

fbwf.sys is tied to win 7 professional, avloga.sys... i can find one reference to it from Sweden but google translate fails on site.

If moving the ram around doesn't help, try updating drivers or maybe even a fresh install of win 10 as if you have win 7 files on there still, it would blow away all the old stuff that could be causing the bsod.

UNEXPECTED_KERNEL_MODE_TRAP is displayed in the Blue Screen of Death (BSOD). The error is mostly generated due to hardware failure or because of installation of inappropriate or incompatible device drivers. As with other Blue Screen of Death errors, a simple restart may resolve the issue. However if the problem persists, the computer must be restarted in safe mode and any newly installed...

However if the problem persists, the computer must be restarted in safe mode and any newly installed device driver must be uninstalled to make Windows 8 computer run smoothly.

Another reason why a Windows 8 system might display UNEXPECTED_KERNEL_MODE_TRAP error may be because of dusty or carbon covered PCI components like external LAN cards, TV tuner cards, etc. In such cases, the devices must be disconnected from the computer, cleaned, and reconnected to the computer.
