8 GB ram but 3.90 Usable?

hi i have 8 gb ram , corsair blue edition 4x2 i tried one by one and work perfectly , i tried changing slots and nothing i still getting 3.90 gb ram usable any idea?

what is your full system spec? which version of os?

Where do you think Windows and all those programs that you have running are running actually run from?

right click the task bar, and select Task Manager from the popup menu. Then click on the right-most tab. that will show you what is using up your memory.

I will say that having almost 4GB free on an 8GB system it pretty good actually.

what is the speed on the RAM? then go to bios and make sure it running at that speed

how do i remove reserved ram ?

and i went to bios the ram speed is 1330 MHZ so i put my mobo to run the rams at that speed already

should i check the processor box to 8? i have 8 proccesors btw

If you have a GPU that is in your CPU, that is what is using most of that hardware reserved memory. You would need to buy and install a real video card and disable the one in your CPU package from the BIOS.

Do not change the processors to 8. Windows sees those as 4 processors with a second thread for each core.

I have a r9 280x and it have it own memory i dont . Im not using any gpu from my cpu
