8 GB single channel vs dual channel

Hi, I want to upgrade my RAM to 8GB, currently I have 4 GB(2x2GB),my mobo only has two memory slots. So, should I buy 2x4GB or 1x8GB of RAM? If you are thinking dual channel means 2 rams then you have misconception about this,
single channel and dual channel ram are different kind of rams, (now-a-days we have even quad channel)
I buy 2x4GB or 1x8GB of RAM which one you find friendly to your budget
your ram is not so good but for gaming it is ok, raam dont have much impact on gaming, (get corsair Vengeance at same price but better performance)
for gaming even if you have a ddr3 1333mhz ram against corsair vengeance 1600mhz(2400mhz OC) the difference will be of 2-3 fps

crucial and other brands ram are ok for gaming, but if you want overall performance i would recommend corsair vengeance series

The mobo is an Asrock U3S3/960GM and its desktop xd, sorry for the mistake. Just a detail, I have a Cooler Master Hyper 212 Evo, and one memory slot is just below the cooler, so the memory can't be much tall.

So , the mobo supports 240 pin DDR3 1333MHz and OCed 1600MHz and 1866MHz

you can install corsair vengeance with your Hyper 212evo, even i have 212x which is slightly bigger than yours and i have 2 sticks of vengeance installed with no problems

You can use the low profile vengeance if your store has that.

And no theres no such thing as single or dual channel ram - you're correct that you need two sticks of ram (preferably from a kit) for dual channel operation.
