8 gigs of 1600 vs 6 gigs of 1333 should i upgrade?

hi my system is a gtx 670 reference card with no overclock. i have a core i5 2500k overclocked to 4.5ghz under water and 750 watt psu and windows 7 64 bit. as title says would the upgrade be worth it.

So you currently have the 1333 RAM? How many sticks? I would at least go for a dual-channel configuration, if you are running 3 sticks than you have one set in dual channel and one in single.

yes i have 3 slot 2gig 1333 rams and the 8 gig 1600 of ram is 1 slot. what im asking for is not fps games but strategy games with alot of ai like x rebirth. will it give me the proformence boost it needs.

First thing you can try, is seeing if your RAM will run at 1666Mhz with the timings of the 1666Mhz RAM you are looking to buy.
If it runs fine without errors at that speed, then well there you go!

Depends on what you are using your machine for. Most modern games run optimally on 8GB of ram and of course more is better especially if its a higher clock speed. But as 13thmonkey said unless you are running out of it then why bother.
