My motherboard GIGABYTE
GA-H97M-D3H LGA 1150 has 8 pin power connector on it , but my power supply only has 4 pins.
are there any problems??

What should i do if i have to connect a GTX 960 graphics card?

Solution
Your powersupply sounds undersize or obsolete. Most motherboards won't boot if you don't have the 8 pin supplemental power. There is no mention in the user's manual for supporting a 4 pin supplemental power.

it boots with the 4 pin . what if i use a connector like 4 pin to 8 pin, would that be ok?
and could you suggest a power supply that has 8 pin.
thanks.

The two 4pin blocks you mention, they both come off the same cable, and are designed to fit together, making an eightpin block.. see how they fit together and you'll be fine :)

By the way, I found this helpful suggestion here..

a 500w evga bronze psu would be fine or this thermaltake 550w

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817153172&nm_mc=AFC-C8Junction&cm_mmc=AFC-C8Junction-PCPartPicker,%20LLC-_-na-_-na-_-na&cm_sp=&AID=10446076&PID=3938566&SID=

its just cheaper with shipping free
yes you could go 450w with these cards but i rather suggest a little more incase you upgrade later down the line

i wouldnt if the power supply only has a 4 pin i would not use a converter that is just asking for trouble or a chinese firework display out the rear end of your case
