Heyo, just bought an RX 580 and come to find it needs a 8 pin connection. My PSU only has a 6 pin connector. Can I use the 6 pin in the 8 pin slot?

I play GTA V, DBD etc.

Am I correct in assuming it's not a 6+2 pin? And there's only ONE 6-pin?

If there are two 6-pin cables, then you can use a dual-6-pin-to-single-8-pin adapter, and you're safe. NEVER use a molex adapter, or a single-6-to-single-8-pin adapter.

If this is your PSU:

then according to the specifications, it comes with 1 6-pin, and 1 6+2-pin. The 6+2 pin connects to the 8-pin connector on your PSU.

Weird. I'll dig my PSU out and find it. Thank you
