I wanted to change my GPU but it turned out my PSU has 290 watt power so I had to change my PSU too. I realized that my motherboard has no 20 pins slot and connected to PSU by only 8 pins. Someone said it's due to Dell proprietary, is there anyway to solve this? Or is there a PSU with 8 pins cable to connect to mobo? Remember my motherboard has no 20 pins slot

I didn't buy anything yet. Didn't even choose anything to buy. Im not willing to buy motherboard. What should I care about when buying PSU and GPU?

because you said something about a 20pin connector, which would be outdated by now.

8 cables AWG18 versus 24 cables AWG18. Do you see the electrical problem? less cables = more heat if the gpu draws the full load over the PCIe port. Just wanted to warn about a safety issue there.

Thank you. I don't know much about those. Do you have any recommendations for Dell Optiplex 9020.
