Ok thanks...I was not sure because the cable still have only 6 small cables...

Will my 550 watt handle the rx580 ? Is it a nice upgrade ?

Hi, want to upgrade my gpu. I have radeon 7850 and I can have a good price on a like new use rx580 8gb. Will it give a nice boost ?

I got 8gb of ram, 550 xfx pro psu and a i5 4570.

The rx580 need an 8 pins, is the cable I must use ?

Thanks
It should give you a big boost.

Here are the benchmarks.

Also I think the 580 will work well with your i5.

As far as the plug....use an 8 pin plug. If your PSU doesn't have one....I don't recommend trying to cobble something up....get the right PSU with the right plug.

HAve you seen the pic in my first post ? is it an 8 pins or not ?

The GPU upgrade will be good but if it's the bronze version then you'll want to replace it.
really ? why? and what would be the worst case scenario ?

It could ruin that RX 580, the PSU is the heart of the system, single most important part of your computer build and a low quality one could ruin your parts especially with a gaming load. Some garbage ones have been known to even catch on fire.

It may work but it's not something i'd personally risk.

thanks once again..I was really thinking that my psu 0not that cheap) would have been enough. Its the 80+ bronze....Is there a way to check if its good enough?

And from what I read it seem that my old hd7850 2gb have a tdp of 130watt and the rx580 have 185 watt....is it a significent difference ? Does it means anything ?

The efficiency doesn't always mean if it's good or bad quality but in this case the gold version is a better quality then the bronze (yours) version. Like I said it may work but it's not something I'd risk. The Corsair grey label CX/M 550W would be the min budget PSU I'd get for that GPU.
