Utilizing Fuzion Technology, so I'll use a 460 and a 5970 or something probably, just a guess. My chosen parts below can be recommended to change. Thanks!

Also, reason I chose the hex-core is because in the long run it'll be better than a 760 or 750 i5 and I'm wondering if I should get 2 sets of that same RAM package, or maybe get a better 4 gig RAM set, what would be better? or would 4 gigs of what I chose be fine?

Someone asked me this same question yesterday but on the lower end of that budget range i.e $800 USD and just straight up single beefy GPU set up all the way so

if you go 6-core, get at least a 1075t.

I don't see a vid card in he original build, but a HD 6870 or GTX 470 are plenty powerful. The GTX 570 is also nice if you can afford its $350 price tag

It comes to exactly 1000, but you still need that psu you want and a shitty little CD drive

IMO, just spend the extra 80 - 100 bucks getting the psu and CD drive and you'll have a great PC ready for you when your done

Not really, you see his budget is stated as $800 - $1000, I reccommended to him that he spend an extra 100 dollars. If he really feels lke it get 6GB ram, and maybe a lesser video card. But if he is already willing to spend 1000 bucks I dont think an extra hundred bucks to make a BIG difference in computing is a problem. But that is not for me nor you to decide, but rather him. My suggestion to you is to not flame and get your post count higher by making useless comments, you're here to help him. If he doesn't like my suggestion he won't use it and I'll reccommend something different, but if he can manage to decide on purchasing at least one piece of hardware that I reccomended I've already helped him more than you. So here's what to get straight: Next time instead of making incoharent comments post your own build and suggest something worthy of reading.

I'm going with the 1055t because I'm going to be overclocking anyways, and I don't think I need an i7 950. This setup I want to last long, but this purchase won't be the end, I'll be upgrading with a new GPU and more RAM, etc, along the way, this is to just get me started.

Sadly, I think I'm going to have to drop my budget from $1000 to $900, as well.

Question about the HDD though, I hear a lot about the Spinpoints, what's so great about them compared to what I chose?
