I humbly come to you for advice,

I edit music Videos/Short comedy videos and Recently getting into Short to Mid length films and the 3 year old system that I have is just about ready to croak. I don't have the budget to buy the the expensive stuff so figured I can try to build something that will last and put me out of this super slow nightmare.

I want to to stick with a windows based platform and need to get everything new (This is not an upgrade I will keep my old device as well). My requirements other than something that will let me render fast and preview videos as I edit, (without lag issues on HD) would be I also need a big monitor since editing programs have many different windows that need to be bounced around. I would also need speakers, and I will also use this comp to view movies/surf internet. Here is the required information and thank you guys in advanced!

Approximate Purchase Date: ASAP

Budget Range: (including shipping) 800-1000 U.S.

System Usage from Most to Least Important: Editing Video, surfing the internet, watching movies

Are you buying a monitor: Yes

Parts to Upgrade: New build (need all)

Do you need to buy OS: Yes

Preferred Website(s) for Parts: Amazon, however I am open to reputable sites specially if I can buy everything in one transaction.

Location: NJ, USA

Parts Preferences: Best for the job, no preference

Overclocking: Dont know what that is

SLI or Crossfire: Dont know what that is

Your Monitor Resolution: not sure, guessing 1920x1080

Additional Comments: would like windows, I use premiere, cool edit pro (for vocals), Sony vegas pro (Video) and for pictures Photoshop. Need SD CARD READER AS WELL! NEED SPEAKERS! NEED BIG MONITOR! Would like HDMI port

And Most Importantly, Why Are You Upgrading: not upgrading, New build, computer crashes and very slow rendering time, lag while previewing video, HEATS UP real bad, hard to edit when you cant see in real time whats going on.

Include a list of any parts you have already selected with descriptively labeled links for parts: NONE

Here is my suggestion for your components:

PCPartPicker part list: http://pcpartpicker.com/p/1C61z

CPU: Intel Core i5-3350P 3.1GHz Quad-Core Processor ($177.98 @ SuperBiiz)
Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-H61M-S1 Micro ATX LGA1155 Motherboard ($31.99 @ Newegg)
Memory: Kingston Blu Red Series 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3-1333 Memory ($48.96 @ NCIX US)
Storage: Western Digital Caviar Blue 1TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive ($59.98 @ Outlet PC)
Video Card: Zotac GeForce GTX 760 2GB Video Card ($242.98 @ SuperBiiz)
Power Supply: Corsair CX 500W 80 PLUS Bronze Certified ATX12V Power Supply ($47.99 @ Microcenter)
Total: $609.88

It still lacks: speakers, monitor, OS, case, and an optical drive. I did not choose them for you because these things will depend on your personal preference. Goodluck! :)
