Hi,
Tried a build prior to this one, but as it wasn't optimal here is the new build i ll get my hands on:

  • AMD R5 3600 OR 3600 X
  • MSI B450 Tomahawk Max ATX
  • G.Skill Ripjaws V 2x8 3200mhz
  • MSI GTX 1660 Gaming X
  • Crucial MX500 1TB SSD
  • MSI Mag Forge 100M (6 fan)
  • 80+ Bronze OR Gold semi-modular PSU
I've checked the size of cpu fan, gpu and case, they fit together.

  • Will i need to update the BIOS with an older cpu? MSI Max Mobos do not require a BIOS update for Ryzen 3000---
  • Pcpartpicker summed the power required to 289 W, i believe an 80+ Bronze/Gold 450 W OR 500 W PSU will be enough, am i right? (please note that i will upgrade the gpu later, nothing fancy though) Higher wattage required for the build above, PSU load shall be between 30-70%, and do consider future upgrades.
  • All in all what do you think?

The few dollars going with the G.Skill RAM can be used to go with the WD SN550 NVMe SSD instead of the MX500 SATA SSD. The EVGA BQ is not one of the good EVGA PSUs. The Be Quiet Pure Power 11 is the cheapest good quality or better PSU I can find. If you spend an extra $20 there is the Antec Earthwatts Gold Pro which is semi-modular and even better quality. The 1660 Super is faster and the same price as the 1660 you choose.

Alright, nice to hear. I ll check for the gpu and that NVMe drive, it's easier to install so it'd be nice. As for PSU i will indeed pump in few more bucks for a better one, but isn't 600 a bit too much?

Thanks for your time
