This is the first time am building my own rig. Am doing this mainly for 3 reasons

1) Purely out of passion to create my own machine
2) Get the best bang out of buck by making my own rig
3) Satisfaction of building my own machine and knowing it inside out

I did a lot of research on the Internet and mostly on this website. My technical knowledge is mostly nil as i am a finance guy but i still managed to learn a great deal here. OC is still too much for me, so i will stay away from those advance rigs for the moment.

Do take a look and give your kindest suggestion if i am headed in the right direction.

1) Processor
Intel i5 4440
http://www.flipkart.com/intel-3-1-ghz-lga-1150-i5-4440-4th-generation-processor/p/itmdpgyx9fn9cgan?pid=PSRDPGYVRPJAYYFH&srno=b_3&ref=8fe84588-e2e1-4363-aabf-93fe3b90a6ed

2) Motherboard

Am extremely confused here. Dont understand the price difference. Help appreciated here. Gigabyte or Asus is what i have heard are the best. A 100$ or Rs.5000 board should be good i guess.

3)RAM
Kingston HyperX Blu DDR3 4 GB X 2 = Total 8GB
DDR3-1600
DIMM Memory Module
240-pin Configuration
6-7-8-9 CAS Latency

http://www.flipkart.com/kingston-hyperx-blu-ddr3-4-gb-pc-ram-khx1600c9d3b1-4g/p/itmd9zdfmetkss2t?pid=RAMD9ZDYDQQCWGAQ&srno=b_14&ref=33a1fe9e-6928-4397-ad04-440940b0a491

There are more models here but i was plainly confused with CAS timings etc.

4) Cabinet

Almost sold on Cooler Master HAF 912 Combat Transparent Side Panel Mid Tower Cabinet
http://www.flipkart.com/cooler-master-haf-912-combat-transparent-side-panel-mid-tower-cabinet/p/itmdfbejez37q4cu?pid=CABDFBEG7G926YZ5&otracker=from-search&srno=t_2&query=cabinet&ref=2a2725fe-bcb1-4e48-ba79-2ab4f0322cc8

Other options (not sure if i need such high end cabinets inc the above)

Corsair-300R - http://www.flipkart.com/corsair-300r/p/itmd8bfzeqz4yfqc

BitFenix MercAlpha - http://www.snapdeal.com/product/bitfenix-merc-alpha-usb-30/1318986720

Cooler Master NSE 300 KKN2

5) Storage

2TB WD Caviar Green 2 TB
128GB SSD for OS (Is this ok or i can stick with 64GB?)

6) PSU

Corsair VS 650

7) GPU
If the IGP is sufficient (4600), i wont buy one immediately. I need to connect my moniter via HDMI

My usage is heavy multi tabbed browsing and watching HD movies mostly. Basic games are ok. I still play Age of Mythology ;)

The processor is fine.

Get a h87 board with a USB 3.0 header.

RAM is FINE

CASE is a Personal Choice i like the NZXT Phantom 410 comes with 3 fans and a fan controller and will cost you around RS.6500/- http://mdcomputers.in/products/cabinet/nzxt-cabinet-phantom-410-black.html&C=INR&PRICERANGE=5443MPRM10201

HDD Get a WD BLUE instead of GREEN and SSD YES you can get the 64 gb your OS and other drivers plus softwares will consume upto 25- 30 gb and you will still left with around 30 gb of free space for the primary drive.

PSU corsair VS and CX series is very average quality not good for a gaming PC but as you are not buying a GPU its fine but i will recommend you to get a seasonic 520 or 620 watt PSU depending on what GPU you wil get in the Future .
My point is dont go light on the PSU its one of the most important part of your PC and a poor quality PSU can damage other parts of the system with it.

@Rockie

1) Have already bought Samsung 128GB SSD as i was hell bent on using ssd for OS, so that postpones the GTX ;)

2)The ram you have suggested has a Cas latency of 9 while the one i selected showed something like 6-7-8-9 CAS Latency. So isnt the Kingston HyperX Blu a better choice? Please correct me if am wrong.

Thanks

1) Changed to seasonic 620 as you said.

2) Any particular reason why your suggesting WD Blue against green?

3) Am totally confused with the MO options now. Shortlisted these 3, dont know if more exist on other websites as well

1) Added blue to the config now.
2) H97 is actually selling cheaper than H87

Am i missing something here?

3) If i go with Gigabyte as you just recommended, i could save almost INR3000 but it is also the only Mini-Atx while all others are full ATX.

Although i intend to keep my original config mostly with just a gpu to be added at some point later, would it affect my build up vis-a-vis full ATX.

I ask because i dont know if i could fit all these on mini ATX. This is my first time and am starting by viewing youtube vids by Newegg on building a pc.

Completely way off, but then you may as well suggest a smaller cabinet. As am checking Corsair 400R & CM HAF912, all am thinking is why do i need such gigantic cabinets with so many cut outs for fans. No OCing also for me.

Case are totally personal choice go for what ever you like you dont need a full tower case a mid tower case will be just fine for you just make sure it have good GPU clearance depending on what GPU are you thinking about to buy in future.
