I'm building a new pc with intel i7 4770k and asus z87 maximus vi hero with a dual ram of 16gb.
I may have the chance to buy one of the above ssd drive at a very cheap price. the intel is sata ii 3.0gb/s whilst the hp 800gb is sata 3. Will one of these drives be ok for my home workstation (video editing) since both are all enterprise ssd drives. Will there be any performance difference between sata ii and sata iii?
thank you

Solution
1. for the HP SAS drive to work you need a SAS port on your motherboard in which the Asus z87 doesn't have one. Not sure if the SAS to SATA converter cables are reliable, though.

2. SATA II SSD's such as the Intel 710 maxes out at 270mb/s read 210mb/s write. SATA III ports on your mobo support up to 600mb/s, and are backwards compatible to SATA II. you should be ok, but I'd rather get the latest SATA III SSD's as they're much faster than the old Intel 710 series.
