I have been playing fallout 4 just fine for about a week after my first pc build. I updated the gpu drivers and now it seems my cpu is overheating. It reaches 68c.

The thing is, it runs fine in Doom and other hard hitting games, and it ran fallout 4 just fine, but now, it can't seem to handle it.

Any idea why it would start to do this now after doing fine for a week and still handling other games without an issue?

Solution
Drivers are constantly updated and optimized for different games. Doom is relatively new, so it's going to see some updates. Downside to this is game settings rarely correspond to actual settings, there's a considerable amount more available to an optimized gpu than the simple high or ultra you set. So with increases in settings, you are more than likely pushing the cpu harder.

Fallout is notoriously heavy on cpu, highly single threaded. Just adding 1 mod or bumping detail settings the slightest bit can raise temps quickly.
