It has about 18% faster single core performance, at stock clocks, which is still pretty good considering the stock clock on the 4690k is only 3.5Ghz whereas the FX stock clock is 4Ghz. If you OC the 4690K to the same clock speed, the performance advantage increases significantly. But if price, or just wanting a chip that can game, are the deciding factors, the FX@4.5Ghz is capable of being paired with anything out there and running max settings so it's really a matter of how many cpu demanding titles you'll be playing, whether or not you use other applications that are more reliant on single core performance and the fact that you already have the...
