8400 Memory Upgrade

I'm thinking of upgrading the memory in 8400 from 1GB (4*256MB). Is it
possible to upgrade to 2.5GB - i.e. just buying 2*1GB chips and hopefully
selling the 2*256MB chips?

Where is the cheapest place in the UK to buy memory?

I don't see why not. I have 1.5GB in my 8400 (2x512MB, 2x256MB).

I bought memory from http://www.crucial.com/ and it works great in my 8400.
