Hello I have a laptop with a 8400m gs and I was wondering what is the failure rate of these, like is there a chance they can last forever or all of them are gonna fail sooner or later.

Everything dies eventually. The existence of that particular graphics subsystem will not make it 'die' any sooner or later than a laptop without.
