85% memory with only Chrome on

Can you show processes from other users? Every once in a while something weird shows up there. Also run a viruscan. If there's nothing, you can try moving your RAM to different slots. Up until recently I'd never seen that help with this kind of thing, but a bunch of people have posted about in in the last month.

Where are the processes from other users?

I changed slots.. It starts low on memory and after some time it reaches 85% ...

A memory leak is possible. There were a couple Windows services, like superfetch, and at times, windows defender, that ate as much ram as was available, but never released any of it.

I hope this isn't a case of malware. Also, chrome is not good when it comes to memory management. It just sits there and eats and eats. If you're consuming a lot of flash-based content, I wouldn't be surprised if you ran out of RAM within a couple hours.

So what do you suggest?

To recap here, when you restart, memory use starts low and gradually rises, with basically just Chrome running. If you quit Chrome, does it free up most of your memory? If not, it sounds like some other program or service is leaking. Unfortunately, diagnosing that when it won't correctly report memory usage is a process of trial and error.

If it's a program it won't be too bad, you start closing things and checking how much available memory changes. Go through them one by one until you find the culprit. If it's a service, you'd have to disable them at startup, or kill their processes which is a little dicey.

You can also try repairing Windows, if you're lucky it could just be a corrupted setting somewhere. Make sure your backups are up to date.

Someone said this
"This is a known issue with Killer network cards. I'm actually quite miffed that this hasn't been addressed via Windows Update yet and somehow seems to have persisted into Windows 10.

The solution is simple, update your network card drivers."
