I just recommended you guys my budget was 1k without a monitor and yes i will be playing skyrim at 1080I at full settings 😛

I strongly would try to convince him to wait a bit. Prices will go down by November. New technology is on the horizon, once the new tech is released, it drive the old tech prices down substantially.

$1000 will be much more in November than it will be now.

^ 1k will be much more in November? i don't think so. The price will go down but not that much .. wait till next year ad the price will go down and new stuff will be released.
