850 Watt for 980 Ti STRIX SLI

is EVGA 850 P2 enough for

ASUS GTX 980 TI STRIX ( OC Mode ) and 16GB Ripjaw V 3200Mhz ( XMP Enabled ) and i7 6700 ( Stock ) ? am i on the edge with that PSU or it will be just fine ?
 
man i was reading in game debate and STRIX version of 980 Ti draws lot more power than other non reference ones and it suggested 750 watt PSU just for single 980 Ti STRIX . im little afraid to go with 850 but on the other hand it might real be enough .

NVIDIA specifies a minimum of a 850 Watt or greater system power supply. (Minimum system power requirement based on a PC configured with an Intel Core i7 3.2GHz 130 Watt TDP processor.)
the system power supply must also have a maximum combined +12 Volt continuous current rating of 60 Amps or greater
the system power supply should also have at least two 75-Watt 6-pin and two 150-Watt 8-pin PCI Express supplementary power connectors. There are some non-reference design cards that require two 150-Watt 8-pin PCI Express supplementary power connectors (E.g. ASUS GTX 980 Ti STRIX Gaming, EVGA GeForce GTX 980 Ti Classified ACX 2.0+, GIGABYTE GV-N98TG1 GAMING-6GD, MSI GTX 980TI GAMING 6G) per card.

Total Power Supply Wattage is NOT the crucial factor in power supply selection!!! Sufficient Total Combined Continuous Power/Current Available on the +12V Rail(s) is the most critical factor.

Overclocking of the CPU and/or GPU(s) may require an additional increase to the maximum combined +12 Volt continuous current ratings, recommended above, to meet the increase in power required for the overclock. The additional amount required will depend on the magnitude of the overclock being attempted.

STRIX edition ( which has highest factory clocked values ) uses lower wattage compared to reference 980 ti ? :| ?

ok lets wrap up . will EVGA 850 P2 fully support two STRIX 980 TI ( Factory OC Mode ) ?
 


It doesn't matter what ASUS says.

Since the actual power draw of the card can be measured, it just goes to show that there was no need for ASUS to use two 150-Watt 8-pin PCI Express supplementary power connectors when one 75-Watt 6-pin and one 150-Watt 8-pin PCI Express supplementary power connectors is all that is needed just like the NVIDIA Reference Design GeForce GTX 980 Ti 6 GB GDDR5 Card.
 


Mine uses maximum 270-276 Watts at Full Load, don't worry! I Have a i7 6700k OC to 4.7Ghz, a 2400mhz Ram, 1 SSD, 2 HDD, Maximus Hero VIII motherboard, 6 Noctuas Industrial IPPC fans 3000RPM PWM and H100i GTX Liquid Cooler, and a single Asus Strix 980 ti, and I have a 850W Platinum PSU, and my Whole PC at Maxed(CPU, GPU, Liquid Cooler and Fans at 100%) uses 460W, THIS IS EVERYTHING MAXED OUT! add 280W to a Second 980 Ti, 740W total, still safe with a i7 6700k OC to 4.7Ghz, you will be fine!
 
hello need some advice my pc specs Asus Hero mobo thermaltake Nic cooling silver thermal paste i7-4770k (o.c) @ 4.2Ghz 32Gbs ddr3 ram 1866mhz 256Gb SSD evo 2tb SSHD using a 1200 AX corsair PSU and i have a GTX 980Ti strix GPU from Asus and i want get another so i could SLI would i need to get another PSU are i should be good!!! are should i upgrade to a 1500 PSU
