This is my build: https://ca.pcpartpicker.com/list/kRC38Y

Right now I have a 850 watt PSU but there is a 1000 watt for sale right now that I'm interested in. I'm building a PC for my Brother so I was wondering if I could just switch them out. Him take the 850 and I upgrade to the 1000. Is 1000 too much and will I be losing out if I go to high?

Or am I safe where I am and should I just get him a 750 or 850?

500W from a good power supply is fine for your system. It will use under 350w while gaming, when overclocking.

More watts does not mean better. In fact, it will have no benefit to you unless it's a different power supply or based on a different platform with significant changes. Often times a larger PSU is louder.

I don't see a problem with getting a good 750W for your system, if you want a 850W that's fine.

1,000W is really overkill and you would never need it... never.
