I do multitask on my computer almost 80% of the time
20% is for gaming like pubg and bf4

Currently using a asus 1080 turbo

I'm a intel believer but running too many tabs on chrome and mozilla is affecting my work.
Have never used AMD in my entire life so if i were to upgrade to ryzen 2700x will it be any better? or should i just go for intel 8700, i dont know how to oc anyway so i dont wish to mess with my bios

Currently running on i5 7500 with 16gb ram
using a 1080p 144hz monitor, dont plan to upgrade to a 4k monitor, neither do i do editing but i want to multi task at ease

Solution
Title says 2700x, content says 2600x - big difference in cores
First is 8/16 and second is 6/12
For any and all multi tasking, AMD is better, its future proof until 2020
More software is starting to use more cores and threads.
Intel is 6/12, but is ever so slightly faster in some games (5%) but can be up to 20% slower in apps

i meant 2700x, my bad.
so 5% increase of fps or speed wont really make a difference in games right? i'm running on a 1080 so 20% faster multi tasking would be a better choice? correct me if i'm wrong
