I just set all my 8700K CPU cores to run at 4.7GHz, which I've read can run off something around 1.25V - 1.3V. I left my Core Voltage settings in BIOS on Auto, and I'm getting 1.38V, upwards of 1.41V at idle. Am I doing something wrong? Is this normal?

Any help is appreciated

CPU: Intel i7 8700K @ 4.7GHZ
Mobo: ASUS ROG STRIX Z370-F
RAM: 16GB G.Skill Trident-Z @ 3200MHz

Solution
Most MOBOS will put more Voltage on the CPU then needed (if on auto), of course still as much as it will be save. It's doing it because otherwise it may not be stable. You can set it on manual and try to find the right voltage.
