8700k @4,8ghz 1.25v + 1080ti sli is 1000w PSU enough?

i ordered pre build PC with this specs

8700k oc to 4,8ghz@1.25v

asus strix 1080ti sli (wont oc em)

i will have costume water cooling with ek d5 pump

for PSU i picked corsair 1000w.

should it be enough? site configurator said, max what my system pulls should be ''811'' wats but when im playing with online psu calculator, when i add all those things in, well... 893w, and on note thats in real world scenario, benchmarks could go above that ofc. now i think i kinda fucked it there with picking too weak PSU for this configuration, i had to choose between 1000w and 1500w (1200w was not avaible) and that 1500 costed 400$ more so yeah..

what still worries me is, if i load PSU so high near its limits, well after year or two im not sure this PSU could keep feeding my components inside. is it safe for me to go with 1000w or what should i do? kinda sucks now. online configurator should normally tell me when i pick too low PSU, and this one even recommended me to pick 850w psu imagine.

would you care to explain why 850w would be great? the headroom between that PSU and wats my system would pull is less then 10%. what happens 2-3 years down the road when PSU get older and not so efficient? could blow up and take everything with it :/ or i am missing something here with PSU's? more headroom should be better?

GTX 1080TI X2 will pull around 600W MAX.

That leaves 250W for the rest of the system, the CPU will draw about 100W and the MB around 50W.

So that's 750W draw if everything is maxed out (Worst case)

If this is a gaming rig be aware that you're going to find yourself disabling SLI for alot of games due to performance, since so few games today actually use SLI or use it well so chances are you wont be using both cards together a whole lot.

The CPU isn't pulling 186W.

The CPU is 95W TDP. (OCed or not)

GTX 1080Ti's are 280W cards, so 300W max normally.

i am aware of that, however in games im going to run it its important to know how much system would pull in its max, 1 out of 3 games support SLI, i know that, its not issue with me.

allright, so 2x 1080ti sli = 600w+cpu+motherboard=750w+ other mini things, shouldnt go above 800w.

so i am safe with 1000w more or less? im kinda paranoid cause im planing to keep this thing for at least 5 years, im not planing to upgrade every year or something like that so i wanna be sure that PSU can handle this 100%.

Firstly (looking at other comment) take that PSU calculator with a grain of salt. It almost always overestimates. Your build would likely use ~600W while gaming, as seen here (656w was measured from the wall, so multiply by .92 due to PSU efficiency) Keep in mind that CPU in the review consumes more than your CPU.

Efficiency is to do with the power draw from wall ratio with the power deliver. A lower efficiency doesn't mean less power delivery. Also, there is no hard evidence suggestion PSUs lose power delivery capacity over time. Even if it did, a quality PSU should have a long warranty to compensate.

A high quality PSU should have protections like Over Power Protection (OPP) which safely shuts down the PSU before the high power can cause damage.

Not if you already have enough, and a higher capacity unit will cost more.

thank you for detalied answer, i appreciate that. i guess this psu calculators put a bit watts over the top but ok, more is better then less i guess.

so PSU dosent really care does it runs on 90% of its maximum power supply or on 10%?

price diff between corsair 850w and 1000w is just 20€ here so it dosent really matter so much for me. thanks for clearing it up for me efficiency and power draw thing.
